Deanery

The Dean, head of the faculty, is at the same time the presider of the Faculty Board; in case of him being prevented the Vice Dean acts in place of the Dean. The Dean is elected by the professors of the faculty for a turn of two years; he/ she officially represents the faculty and manages and decides all matters in own liability. The Dean is responsible for the members of the Faculty Board and for the staff of the faculty to correctly meet their tasks, esp. in teaching, examinations, and research. He is superior to the non-academic staff of the faculty. The Faculty Board may delegate specified duties to the Dean.

Faculty Service Centre

The Faculty Service Centre supports the Deanery in carrying out their duties and is the central contact point for all questions regarding organisational matters, academic administration, teaching, studying, and research of Faculty V. The Faculty Service Centre advises the members of the faculty on fundamental matters, carries out important, ongoing administrative functions, oversees the boards of the academic self-administration, prepares the meetings of the Faculty Council, and implements the council’s decisions. In addition, the administration manager is an advisory member of the Faculty Council and is entitled to speak and make proposals.

The Department of Studying and Teaching is the faculty’s central contact point for information regarding programmes of study. This department provides information material about studying, in particular a study guide, and is responsible for the organisation of student orientation events and study guidance. In addition, it takes steps towards the improvement of the study and course offerings with regard to the current demands of the labour market, the design of lectures and seminars, and the regulation of examinations.

The Research Officer in the Faculty Service Centre is responsible for providing support to the researchers and to coordinate the request of foreign applicants who wish making a PhD.
